This glossy, dark green shrub bears fragrant, double white flowers during summer. It is rather slow growing, but stray shoots should be trimmed back. Gardenias prefer acidic soil, adn require frequent fertilizing in the summer months. 

These plants prefer full to part sun, and go through quite a bit of water, allow the top few inches of soil to dry in between watering's.
